My guess is that the domain expired and was then snapped up by a web registrar (enom it appears).
They often do this so they can turn around and sell a domain for more money, seeing as how it would likely have value if someone has already gone thru the truble of registering it.
As for what happened to the original site and it's owner, I don't know...
