I’m trying to stay prepared. Got vhf, uhf, HF covered with c4fm. Excuse my writing as I am layed up from surgery. Doing the hunt and peck on the keyboard. In short I need a scanner and want to stay within my budget. Im new to scanning. Zip is 37857. Im interested in the 536. Thats my budget. I think the 536 will fit my needs but will I need DMR Programing as well? I’ll just get the key when im ready. Thanks in advance.

I did thank you. Will i get that one ems dispatch channel out of church hill that is dmr and any amateur radio DMR traffic?

Yes you should. I have family in the area and the rescue squad is about all I can receive. THP dispatch is supposed to be in the clear too but I don’t seem to have much luck with it. I hear some but not very much.

Thanks for this. Where I am located I should also consider county’s across the state line. Im up high and facing west, north and north east.
I know nothing about DMR. Are those repeaters linked together like fusion? i can look it up but just thought id ask.

I don’t know anything about Fusion and not much about DMR, so I’ll skip giving any advice on this. Most of the systems around my house are P25 so I might have been able to answer a question about this topic.
