• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

I am completely new at this and wondering if anyone can tell me which type of scanner to get in order to be able to listen to the police in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan? Thanks so much!

Looking at the database entry: Moose Jaw Police Service Trunking System, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan - Scanner Frequencies

It is entered as digital, however there is a note stating that most times it is digital encrypted, with rare occurrances of clear digital heard.

To answer your question a digital scanner will work when they are broadcasting clear.

There is a live feed currently, but it may be taken down after the Broadcastify launch.

Thank you very much to both of you for being so helpful. One of the scanners I have been looking at is a Radioshack Pro106 Digital Trunking scanner. Would this work?
