Scanner newbie - Questions on Waukesha County and Mukwonago

I'm trying to set up a scanner for someone who is a Mukwonago resident. From what he tells me, if you have 154.4300 programmed, you'll get Mukwonago and the rest of Waukesha county fire dispatch... however he just wants to hear Mukwonago.

Is there a way to limit this frequency so that he's just getting the Mukwonago calls?

Again, I know very little about scanners, just enough to throw the frequencies in it and get it to scan, basically.

154.4300 is the "Fire Paging" Freq. for Waukesha County. There is no way to break out just Mukwonago (Town or Village) from that.

As the FD's are on the Waukesha County TRS system your friend is kind of stuck with what he has right now.

If he wants to hear the Fireground also he will have to have a trunk tracking scanner and have all of the fireground talkgroups programmed into the scanner from the WCTRS programmed also. Plus all of the "color" MABAS groups or frequencies programmed.

Check the database here on RR for all the info that you will need to program his scanner.

Also he might want to program the iFERN freq. for MABAS (Mutual Aid requests)

Another question, he says he'd like to get Mukwonago ambulance calls... is that part of 154.4300 "Fire Paging" ? or would that be on another frequency.

Yes. Ambulances are part of the fire departments and are included in the paging channel in Waukesha County

If hes going to setup a trunked system for him, the initial pages are simulcast on Mukwonagos TG. thats the only way he can listen to exclusively Mukwonago stuff
