Hi all. This is my first post. I have a few questions. I have an app, Scanner Radio Pro that I USED to be able to listen to the Chesterfield Fire and EMS on. As of around January 1st or so, it just went away for some reason or another. It was a feed to broadcastify.

I would like to know if 1) anyone knows why it went away, and 2) if it's possible that I could be start to rebroadcast the feed. I have an old hand held Realistic scanner, one of many I had when I worked at Radio Shack, but I have to dig it out of some boxes and stuff.

If this is the wrong topic to post this in, please move it as needed.

Thanks
Art

I'm not from your area but I have been a feed provider for 7 years. That feed no longer exists. Feeds come and go for many reasons. Click on the blue underlined links for more information. Why is this feed offline? Where did a feed go? How to get my area added?.

You can easily apply to provide that feed yourself. I suggest you get your scanner programmed and connected to your computer before applying.

Click on this link for instructions on setting up your own feed - Becoming a Feed Provider - The RadioReference Wiki.

Be sure to read the Terms of Service at the bottom of the page.

Looking at the database here it appears that the old feed was using 154.160 MHz. If this is no longer the case hopefully someone locally will chime in and provide the correct frequencies/systems and the type/model of scanner that you will need. (Often feeds are discontinued due to frequency changes and/or upgrades to trunked or digital systems and the feed provider no longer has a compatible scanner to receive the new system).

Well that is my concern, that the county changed the frequency or something else to not make it public any longer. I don't want to invest the time and possible scanner purchase (I can't find my Pro-32) if it would be all for nothing. I'm hoping someone local can chime in too to answer that question.

I actually found this forum from the Scanner Radio Pro app and from broadcastify, hoping to get the answer to the above. But thanks for the links!

Since I work in Innsbrook, I heard Henrico station 22 going to a call this afternoon and just for grins and giggles, I thought I'd check the app to see what the call was since they were running hot. It looks like Henrico Fire has been removed as well. I wondered if this is related to the loss of Chesterfield Fire/EMS as well. So I searched this forum and found this. https://forums.radioreference.com/v...an-hear-richmond-henrico-pd-chesterfield.html

Is there anyone in this area who can get Chesterfield or Henrico Fire on their scanner currently?

Thanks

I'm not having any problems listening to CFEMS on the 800 MHz digital system nor on the 154.160 analog simulcast of dispatch. Do you have any issues listening directly from the Broadcastify site (instead of the app)?

When was the last time you heard it? It was rather recently that it went offline on Broadcastify.

It (they) were dropped from Broadcastify, or the person supplying the feed stopped their feed. I'm not sure which. My intent is to try to resupply the feeds to Broadcastify so it can then be re-fed to all the other apps that use broadcastify.

I have an extra few computers to provide the feed, just need a scanner now since I can't find my Pro-32. Although I have a good connection that can supply me with a Mintor fire pager to supply the feed if necessary.

Henrico Fire hasnt been online in quite some time. Just like Henrico police the feeds come and go for what reason im not sure which led me to buying my own scanner just this past weekend. I was tired of wanting more so now i have everything i want to listen to.

I currently have all of Henrico's traffic on my scanner including Police and Fire

So quick question regarding the frequencies. I know you said simulcast but is the 154.160 the same as the 800 MHZ dispatch, is that what is being simulcast? And is EMS on the same frequencie(s)? I know they have the main fire dispatch and EMS dispatch, plus a few tac channels, but are they all on the same frequency? I used to be a volunteer fire fighter at Station 7 on Hull Street, so I'm familiar with what channels they have, just not how it's being broadcast.

When the Scanner Radio Pro had the county on it, fire was on the left speaker and EMS was on the right (maybe other way around).

Thanks

I was listening over the weekend but can listen again this evening (to both) when I get home from work.

154.160 is the analog simulcast of Dispatch where they dispatch both Fire and EMS calls. You'll also hear the Quick Call II pager tones that you won't hear on the DTRS.

If you have a digital capable scanner of new enough vintage, you can listen to the actual 800 MHz DTRS where you have Dispatch then the Operations (Ops), Tacs, Admin channels, etc. The feed was setup with Dispatch on one side and Ops on the other. Don't think of them as frequencies since it's a trunked radio system. There are set frequencies used by the repeaters but any talkgroup (channel) can come across any one of them at a given time. See here (scroll down to the Chesterfield Talkgroups): Richmond / Henrico / Chesterfield

AACJ, the only thing that's being rebroadcast on VHF in Chesterfield is dispatch, which is used for all fire & EMS calls (the separate channel for EMS dispatch [155.265] went away ages ago). None of the Tac channels are rebroadcast. Dispatch is only used for dispatch, all incidents are handled on Ops, Tac 3, Tac 4, etc.

Nothing has changed on the Richmond Regional System (which carries Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Colonial Heights, VCU PD, UR PD, etc). Who ever has been supplying the feeds have simply taken them down.
