scanner settings

Can someone tell me who I can get to check to make sure all my settings are correct for my pro-106. It keeps breaking up during some transmissions. I am in the Greenville area.

Do you have any priorities set? Weather priorities turned on etc.

If they are talking it is going in and out. When I first got this scanner I could set it anywhere in the house and I could recieve anywhere. Now I have to sit it at a window to make sure it is getting a signal. The lights come on and it shows they are talking, but I hear nothing.
