First I should tell you a little about me so you understand why I'm asking (what I assume are) pretty basic questions. I'm a photojournalist in West Fargo and just recently purchases a RadioShack PRO-106 digital scanner. When the local agencies were analog programming my old Uniden scanners was pretty straitghtforward but digital appears to be quite different. My knowledge of radios and scanning is pretty much limited to plugging in the frequencies and turning on the power.
Now my questions. First off, the employees pre-programmed the scanner with all the local frequencies except they put in all the OLD ANALOG frequencies. Nice. I used Win500 and info from the Radio Reference database to enter the correct frequencies. All of these frequencies are listed "conventional", including the digital ones. Do any of these digital frequencies need to be entered in the trunking section of Win500?
Do all digital frequencies involve trunking or is that merely an option of digital?
Sorry if these are simple questions but I'm a little lost.
Cheers,
Dave
