Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone have a procedure or a workaround to enable scanning a conventional digital channel into an IP Site Connect Channel?

Thanks K2NEC. The conventional channel is not IPSC enabled. We want to hear this conventional channel in our IPSC channels. Is there a way to include a conventional channel in the Roam List? We do not us Cap. plus just digital channels.

I see this in the CPS programming. I was hoping for a workaround. Users monitoring between IPSC and conventional now each carry 2 DP4401EX radios and it is not very handy. Thanks again.

If the conventional channel is not a part of the IPSC system, ie two seperate repeater systems with seperate traffic, there is no way to achieve what you are trying to do. I would seriously advocate against messing with your work radios. They are setup a certain way for a reason

You understood right, there is an IPSC system for wide area coverage and a separate stand-alone repeater for local area coverage. These systems evolved through the years and simply out of neccesity.

Does the radio differentiate between an ISPC and a stand alone channel? I don't think so but if not I guess you could add the non-ISPC to the roam list but I see this as a really sloppy way to jump off and on to a ISPC system.

Thanks ramal121. Just as K2NEC mentioned, IPSC has a roam list of only IPSC channels, the stand-alone repeater has a conventional TDMA channels found in the Scan List and cannot be found in the Roam List. Since all are digital channels, I was hoping there was a way to combine the two lists.
