New to this! Can someone look at the frequencies for Aiken SC Police, Sherrif, Fire, and EMS and tell me if they can be scanned with a Radio Shack Pro-2026?

Aiken Co FDs and Aiken City - Yes.

Aiken Co. EMS, Aiken Co. SD, N. Augusta PD, SCHP - No. These agencies operate on the Palmetto 800 trunked radio system. The 2026 is not a trunk-tracker so it will not be able to track transmissions by these agencies.

It does scan 800MHz so you could scan the local 800MHz frequencies in conventional mode, but most would find this annoying and unsatisfactory because you'll hear a lot of digital noise on those frequencies and have no real way to know which agency is transmitting at any time.

Heh, well, South Carolina is a small state. But it's not likely you'll hear counties 200 miles away on UHF. Certainly there are some other nearby counties that are still using conventional channels on VHF and UHF - Barnwell, Greenwood, Edgefield, to name a couple - that the OP might be able to listen to.

Saluda County is till VHF and UHF as well. Appears to have good range, I hear them in Spartanburg a good bit.
