Joel,

This is some 2003 info (from an official doc) I have on North Cascades NP,
perhaps you can verify on your trip.

Direct: RX 166.750 TX 166.750 Tone none
NW (Copper Rptr) RX 166.750 TX 166.975 Tone 118.8
Central (Ruby) RX 166.750 TX 166.975 Tone 156.7
SE (McGregor) RX 166.750 TX 166.975 Tone 131.8

Also, doing a quick internet search, I found this info at NPS Planning Website:
http://parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?parkId=327&projectId=15048

Have fun!

ok all the info you have is correct all I can add is I think direct has a pl tone of 100.0 on it now. I have also heard mdc signaling a the start of so transmissions. also finney repeater is up and running I do not have the pl as yet. I will by tomarrow.

I live close to marblemount and monitor the park allmost all the time. watch out if you are in the park unit 311 is playing traffic cop. which is not in the scope of his job.

Not trying to pick nits....Honestly...

watch out if you are in the park unit 311 is playing traffic cop. which is not in the scope of his job.

But "If" they are Fed LEO's, in a National Park, they can do it, State and County have little to no say about it.

I have spent a few years of my life with the USFS, and they with the NPS are cut from the same clothe... You are not going to find more then a couple of the "Jack booted thug" types in the whole country, but they are around. Most if the guys/gals I have worked with dont even carry the gun unless they have to. Now speeding traffic, littering, and fires out of approved area will get ALL of them going nuts.

which scanner?

I'm new to the world of scanning and would like recommendations on a scanner to monitor NOCA communications while I'm camping. ke7joi, does narrowband mean that the park has gone to digital transmission format? Should I be looking at digital scanners?

On this page: US Government Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference it has the following info:
Frequency License Type Tone Alpha Tag Description Mode Tag
166.75000 RM CSQ N Cascade NP North Cascades National Park FMN Federal
Is this information still valid?

Thanks in advance for any help!
