I ordered a 3 pack of screen protectors from zip scanners on Amazon and they’re garbage. Does anybody have any better recommendations for a quality screen protector they have experience with?

I went to walmart and bought the glass type screen protectors. Cut to fit carefully and not fast so I didn't crack the screen protector.
Just an FYI comment, typically screen protectors are only to help protect the screen from scratching. They rarely protect the screen from breaking.

Just buy a sheet from Amazon and cut it to fit, there are dozens to pick from

I think I know the ones you're referencing, because I bought crummy ones off Amazon, too. Did they have the red grid lines?
I've cut some unused cell phone protectors and they work great.

Bahahah! Good to know! They're a pain to put on, and don't seem like they would offer a whole lot of protection to the screen aside from minor scratches. I have the SDS100 in a nylon case from ScannerMaster as well, but have kept the Amazon protector on anyways as an additional layer
