I listen to SD County Sheriff's every day and yesterday first I noticed it was offline, today it's not listed as option?

Does anyone know why? Or where I can find another link to it?

Thanks so much

FYI, I hope to have the SDSO feed back up very soon (hopefully today). Keep checking the feed page :) I'm also considering splitting the feed... therefore having one for South Bay / East County (Santee, Lemon Grove, Imperial Beach and Rural) and another for North County (Encinitas, Vista, San Marcos and Poway), similar to how I have Riverside County Sheriff setup but this will take a little longer to finalize and setup on my end.

SD Sheriffs' have switched to a trunked ENCRYPTED channel so they can't broad cast. I just dont know how this site has the broad cast, but you should use this site's channel.

Well, I'm sure that everyone in the San Diego area listening to three dozen SDSD dispatch and tactical talkgroups in the clear on the RCS will be surprised to hear that the Department has shifted to a (one?) encrypted talkgroup.

Do you have more information?

Yes, I work with SDS Dept. Communications/detention centers

DISPATCH is still open... that is what your listening to... deputy talk groups are encrypted that run information such as SSN's, more along the lines of private information, that is what is encrypted, digitally.

So you're talking about INQN, INQS..etc?

The best way I can explain it is that every channel is encrypted except for dispatch. SDS Dept.'s dispatch is a talk group of its own, (tach 1) but all other channels are encrypted.
I'm sorry but I believe that all standard XTS 3000 radios (non SED/CID) in use do not have an encryption module installed...

Sheriffs use the XTS 5000, san diego PD uses 3000, we all used to have the 2500s but upgraded because we love wasting money :)
