Does anyone know if the above will function with the cheap RTL Dongles. I see on the site that you can write your own dll but this is well beyond my capabilities. Any help would be much appreciated

Yes, SDR-Radio works with the RTL dongles. Download the prebuilt DLLs here:

Yes, to software the Soft66RTL is just another RTL dongle, the software does not know it is repackaged or has a 50 MHz upconverter built in.
