Hi all,

I am after some advise/help/for someone to shed some light please.

I am a final year Computer Networks student and have been given an assignment to discuss SDR and implementing numerous protocols within a single device (GSM, UMTS, LTE, 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC).
Whilst I do already have a good understanding of the 802.11ac and Bluetooth protocols, I am absolutely clueless about the others. I have spent the last 3-4 days reading various pages and sites discussing RF, SDR and the numerous protocols to no avail.

If someone could please shed some light or at least point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Matt

This website plus a $20 RTL dongle (perfect for a "starving student" budget) should provide you all sorts of possible uses and info for your research: rtl-sdr.com - A blog about RTL-SDR (RTL2832U) and cheap software defined radio. As an example, I'm using one to provide the feed I'm currently hosting, which is in essence a digital trunking scanner (normally a $400-$500 device) that I put together for less than $20.

Good luck!
