SDR# Rev1859 installation

Just installed SDRSharp version 1859 and the installation is not complete. I want to import my frequency manager database from a previous version and when I attempted to use the FMSuite.DataTools.exe it fails. First it tells me to download Microsoft .Net 5.0 so I do that and ran the executable to install it. Now it tells me that microsoft.windowsdesktop.app version 5.0 is missing. So I download that from nuget and obtained microsoft.windowsdesktop.app.runtime.win-x64.5.0.0.nupkg
which I placed in the same directory as the tools. It does not recognize it even if I truncate it to just microsoft.windowsdesktop.app. This is not an executable file and it's unclear what exactly is supposed to be done with it. Couldn't find any help from the SDR# documentation. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you installed the x86 version of the desktop runtime

I downloaded the x86 .Net 5.0 but what about the Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.app? That seems to be separate and I only found it on Nuget?
Ok, I'll go back and try to find the x86 version.

There's a bunch of posts about desktop missing. I am on the road so I cant read thru them but one may have a fix for you. And like @PDXh0b0 pointed out, 32 bit is what you want. Your machine may be 64 bit but sdr# is 32 bit.

I've downloaded and installed - .NET Runtime 5.0.0(x86), .NET SDK 5.0.100(x86)[only one found], ASP.NET Core 5.0.0 - Shared Framework, and Windows Desktop Runtime 5.0.0(x86). The FMSuite.Datatools.exe still says it cannot find microsoft.windowsDesktop.app version 5.0.0. I'll look at the link you gave me and see if I can find anything. Thanks.

The link I posted is specific to programs saying microsoft.windowsDesktop.app not found. I still run sdr# 1742 because I did not care for all the .net bs. I just want to download, unzip and run. Plus I could not get fast scanner plug in to work with .net versions. I may revisit one day but today is not that day. And tomorrow is not looking good either. Need to get my boat done and in the water.

Plus I could not get fast scanner plug in to work with .net versions. I may revisit one day but today is not that day. And tomorrow is not looking good either. Yeah, I went through the easy fix and downloaded all .net/sdk/frameworks, etc. and it still didn't work. I may just go back to version 1742 myself.
