I have spent the afternoon trying to set up SDR Sharp to work with UniTrunker, per a guide I found here: https://sites.google.com/site/policescannerhowto/

I can get SDR Sharp to work, and UniTrunker to work, but not together.

Now, when I try to run SDR Sharp, I get "paUnanticipated HostError". What causes this and how do I remedy it?

BTW, I installed the Trunker Plug-in for SDR Sharp, but I don't understand how it is tied into UniTrunker, or how you're supposed to use it. If anyone can recommend a better tutorial or a video tutorial, that would be great!

If you installed the versions in that tutorial you shouldn't have to "install" the trunker plug in. It should already be installed. I think your error has to do with the plug in you installed.

Here is another tutorial. Basically the same but you may see something you are missing.

SDRSharp UniTrunker Support

Another

UniTrunker Guide - UtahRadio

There is a package somewhere (that I can't find right now) that has a .bat file to install everything for you that works well. I have the download but I can't find the link to it.

Thanks for the reply. I got it working.....sort of.

It only works if I go into Control Panel / Sounds and set the Virtual Audio Cable as the default sound device. But when I do that I hear no sounds from the speakers, including all computer sounds. If I set the speakers as the default sound device, I get sounds but the program gives me the paunanticipated Host error.

I have the speakers set as default device and virtual audio cable line 2 set as default communications device, and virtual audio cable line 1 set as default recording device that seems to work for me.

What operating system are you using? If Windows 7, the "Playback" default device should be "Speakers". The "Recording" device should be "Line 1" from VAC.

I have mine set like this. I have 2 lines setup in VAC. Line 1 and line 2. I have line 1 set as the default device (this is because DSD uses the default device) I set the output of the SDR# that is running the control channel to line 2. I set Unitrunker signal receiver to line 2. If i use DSD I set the output of the "voice" instance of SDR# to line 1 if I am not using DSD I set it to Speakers.

Hope that helps.

Windows 7. I think I've got the speaker settings down. But now I have to figure out why UniTrunker won't work when it was working just a short time ago.

In the "Receivers" tab it is showing:

Type: Control Model: Debug Role: Voice Run Status: Running

and second line:

Type: Signal Model: Discriminator Role: Signal Run Status: Stopped

I can't get the second line to show "Running", so Something isn't set right somewhere. At least SDR# is working correctly now.
