I don't get a lot of time to play with my RTL-SDR v3, and because of not being able to devote much time to it, I'm still considered a "newb". So with that in mind, here is my question....

I've been using SDR#, but I've heard about something called SDR++. Would this be considered an "upgrade"? Are there any relevant pros/cons involved with the switch? Since I already have the driver and .NET framework installed, would installation go easy? Yea, nay? I bow to you experts.

I can't really speak towards the merits of SDR# to give you any sort of real comparison between the two since I don't use SDR#, but I don't see why it would hurt to have both installed at the same time. I'm sure the biggest thing most people would say is that there are no plugins for SDR++ yet, but its still a pretty new project overall, and has a few quirks for me to get used to coming from GQRX, but the overall feature set it pretty tremendous in my opinion without getting super clunky and overly complicated, and the fact that it plays much nicer with rtl_tcp and has multiple VFO support makes it a winner over GQRX.

Also, just wanted to toss this out there, maybe the most impressive thing about SDR++, in my opinion, is this blerb from the creator.

I'm an 18 year old engineering student from Belgium. I started writing SDR++ as a learning project and update it on my free time.
Any donation is appreciated and will help me acquire new hardware and pay for the student life.

Anways, here's the appropriate links, but the Github, and also his Patreon.

Also, should be a pretty easy install, but you may need Visual C++ redistritubales installed if you don't already have them, not sure which ones, but just check this thread where we already went over some of these things.

Thanks guys! I'll not waste any precious time on SDR++ then since 100% of what I do (so far) is basic audio listening.
