I reckon sales of the previous models have resulted in being able to predict sales of a new model and put in a good sized order hence push the cost per unit down. Looks like a veritable bargain.

I now have an RSP1A. I've only managed 15 minutes with it so far (very little time for fun nowadays) though I can conform that the lost SATCOM band at 250 is now significantly improved. This is lost on previous versions as DAB images stomp all over it. (I used a cavity filter to get rid of that) though the RSP1A now has a filter for it, activated in SDRUNO.

So far, so good.
