A question regarding a favorite system. once you have added various parameters a favorite system, volum, offset, ctcss, etc, how do I go back to the original set up and change say volume offset, etc?
Sure
No reason that you can’t tweak an existing Favorites list. You might want to just change volume offset on on or more specific channels, or add (or change) the alert light settings for a channel. Change these, or update any of them you want. Just be sure that you save any changes made in the Favorites list editors that they’ll be in place when you download lists to your scanner.

Note that, when sending programmed Favorites to your scanner, you may want to also use the option to delete existing lists during the load process. That’s not a requirement, but if you download a list that exists in the scanner (that were loaded previous), you’ll get a “nag” message from Sentinel that the list that you are writing to the scanner is different than a list, with the same name (that was previously loaded on the unit). Sentinel then asks if you want to replace the list in the radio with the revised list, or send it with a slightly different name.

Deleting the existing data (during the load process) ensures that the scanner only has the lists on the profile you are using (picking the lists to load on the scanner, as well as designating which should be monitored by default). Otherwise, if a list on the scanner, loaded previously but is not in your current profile, might be monitored when you really did not want it there anymore.

how do I go back to the original set up
You can't. When you have an initial favorite list edited then you can save it as a backup and I add a B- before the favorite list name as a backup copy stored in Sentinel. If I change a setting I am unsure of if it will work I can use B1- before the name and save that as a backup as well. When writing to the scanner I always use the original name and not the backup name.

If I edit something directly on the scanner and I read the scanner it will say I already have that favorite name and I then rename to have a B2- or something at the beginning of the name. So the highest numbered B are the working copy and lower values are the backups. You have that a|e symbol in Sentinel to rename a favorite list and use the dual paper symbol to copy the whole favorite list to another name. It's probably similar functions in ProScan and ARC.

I recommend to have notes in Notepad saying something like "FL B-2 Civil Air changed nametag for 131.050" I don't know how ProScan or ARC handles things but it would be great if it had a history function where it logs every edit you do including what FL name and system. I believe that ProScan compares the database with a favorite list and show the differences but don't know about comparing one FL with another FL, a backup copy, and show what differs.
