I got an SDS100 last October, and I've been using Sentinel for programming. For my style, Sentinel is lacking in the area of easy codeplug editing. With previous scanner software (Win96, Freescan), and LMR (2-way) software that I've used (Kenwood, BK, Motorola), it is easy to edit an existing codeplug that's saved as a specific file on the PC by: copying the file that's on the PC, opening the copied file with the software, editing/saving the "new" codeplug, and renaming the new file. This is very useful when programming multiple same-model radios with basically the same codeplug, but with slight variations, such as welcome screen text and display properties, between each radio. I don't like how Sentinel works with the Profiles/Favorites relationship when editing.

Does the Butel and Proscan software save SDS/HP codeplugs, including the Favorites lists, as distinct files on the programming PC? Of these two software packages, which is the easiest to use for manually creating new codeplugs and editing existing ones?
