Ok, Ready to share it with those who may be interested. It is 57k in size. You only need to place the file in a folder on your computer. Best if you create a folder such as C:\SDS Terminal, then just copy the file to that folder.

If you are using win 10 and windows defender you will get a popup message which you must hit allow for the program to have network access to your scanner. It only works for the SDS 100 or SDS 200.

There are only 3 buttons. Set IP Address, Test Cmd and Exit.

You must hit Set IP Address button first and enter the IP address assigned to your sds 200 in the settings menu for ip address. I have both read and write enabled in my sds settings I don't know if that matters or not.

The IP address is entered in the box like so: Mine is 192.168.1.67 so that is how it is typed in, nothing else just xxx.xxx.x.xx if you don't use all 3 numbers then you only enter the numbers you use. Then press enter and it will show you a message indicating what your ip address is that you entered so just hit ok.

You only have to enter the IP address once as long as you don't exit the program. You have to enter it each time you start the program when it is not running.

You can then hit the test cmd button. Enter the command you wish to test ONLY the command nothing else the program will add the <cr> to it before it sends it to the scanner.

So to get to the menu you would enter MNU then press enter or hit ok. The program will send the command to the scanner and it will open a message box showing what the scanners response was. Hit enter or ok to close the box and you are ready to try another command.

Enter the command MSB,0,0 then press enter you will now see the scanner has exited the setup menu and you received the reply in the message box hit ok and your ready to go again.

Now you can try STS then hit ok, and so on with commands and see the responses. When you are finished hit the Exit button to end the program.

Here is a link to the shared drop box file so you can download the program.

Dropbox - SDSTERM.EXE

You can let me know how it works for you if you wish, its small and not elaborate but will get you on the trail to discovery.

Enjoy.
Wayne.

USB does not have IP address. It will map to a COM port.

Sorry, meant to say more.

So, to play with sending commands over USB, you don't need the UDP utility. You can use any terminal software (I use TeraTerm).

Nice. As soon as my SDS200 arrives I'm going to give this a whirl.

You are right, I forgot the SDS100's and 436's are network challenged.

This is only for the SDS200 units, but should work on the 536's with WIFI connection to the network.

Wondering what kind of commands would I sent to my SDS200? Would I be able to do anything I couldn't do with ProScan? Still hoping to be able to write my programming from sentimental to scanner over LAN some time in the future. Thanks

Here is the protocol. SDS200_RemoteCommand_Specification_V0_01.pdf
You should be able to send all the commands and receive data back. It's just like ProScan Test & Monitor send text box.
If you want to write to the scanner Sentinel profile & favorites then you will need to FTP into the scanner. FileZilla(free) will work. Before FTP into the scanner for a write operation, send a "GFM,UNIDEN". This program along with my ProScan will automatically appended a carriage return. After the FTP write operation, send a "EFM,UNIDEN".

I wrote this primarily so I had a quick easy tool to send the ftp entry and exit commands when using another ftp utility once I found you needed to send the EFM,UNIDEN and GFM,UNIDEN commands to support the ftp operations.

With the 57k byte size and everything fully contained within the exe requiring no other support from net or anything I can just drop it in any folder I want put a shortcut on the desktop and away I go all I need is the ip adx my sds200 is set at.

Plus I can just put it on a flash drive and use it from there on whatever computer I need it on.
