My efforts to edit my Profile (intended to set/reassign Quick Keys for various Favorite Lists) via Sentinel evidently created a problem. I now get the "nothing to scan" message on certain Favorite lists although other lists accessing the same trunked system (KCERS) continue to work. This problem also evidences itself on a few favorite lists that consist of certain conventional frequency lists (e.g. rail, local airlines, local media, etc.) I am unable to locate any differences in the settings when looking at the file with Sentinel. Can anyone suggest what I may have inadvertently done wrong and how to correct the problem?

I would start by looking at these items.

It depends on whether you want to get the radio scanning (w/o the error) or fix it in Sentinel. Consider this: each channel has to go through Favorites List; System, Department, Channel. Each item in the tree must be enabled. Assuming that, nothing can be Avoided either.

Power-cycling the radio will remove the "soft avoids", but will not restore the "permanent avoids". To manage those; select Menu (bottom button on the left), Manage Favorites, `<select the list>, then Review Avoids or Stop All Avoiding.

I have set up my display to show a map of what is enabled. There are 3 lines, one for Favorites, one for Systems, one for Departments. Each line shows 10 elements (0 thru 9). The number directly after the F,S,D is the first digit of the 2 digit number. When an * is shown, that branch is programmed but not enabled. When - is shown, it is not programmed. When a number is shown, it is programmed and enabled. When the numeral is flashing, it is being actively scanned. VERY HELPFUL to see what is being scanned.

Thank you for your insight and advice. I had failed to check enable ("check") the System QK's for the systems where this was an issue. The matter is resolved and your help is appreciated.

You have to check the quick keys in the profile as well as the ones associated with the system and department. You also need to check the service types in your profile. Finally, you have to define the behavior of the radio by having "yes" on monitor and download in your profile.

I put the number of the Favorite at the front of my Favorites in brackets to identify the number of the Favorite.
