Keep an eye on Main Trading's webpage. He often has scanners, including the SDS series, at a very competitive price, often with one or more additional items included. Currently, he shows the SDS100 for $655.00, but also includes a free soft case, At other times, he has had a scanner 'package' at a lower price, while including the external battery charger for the SDS100, or some other combination of items.
