So I have this BU-353S4 USB GPS receiver and a USB to ps/2 DIN adapter. Does anyone know if this would work (with the required Uniden cable of course) for adding GPS to my SDS 100 or is there something specific that requires use of the actual Uniden GPS?

You're gonna need power. That's added to the antenna. Two power lines come out of the USB (which is plugged into an adapter). One goes to the 6-pin plug and the other ends in a mini USB plug. Now that i've done this, I can't remember the part number for the wiring, however.

That doesn't look like my uniden power cable for the SDS 100. Mine has a USB end not a cigarette lighter plug.

My bad. You're right. I didn't make it clear The USB is plugged into the adapter in the photo. It's a separate item.

And, the cable part number for the cable is BC-UTGC. Amazon has them here https://www.amazon.com/Uniden-BC-UTGC-BCD325P2-SDS100-Scanners/dp/B07JQFHLBL

My adapter provides enough power (2.5A) for the antenna and keeping the radio charged while being used.

You can't use the cable that came with the scanner. The USB receptacle in the scanner will accept both power and data. That comes from cable I mentioned above. It receives standard power and data from the antenna. The OEM cable that came with the radio isn't equipped to receive data from the antenna.

This is why I said specifically the GPS adapter cable from Uniden. Not the programming cable that came with the scanner

Now that we've been through all of this, I don't think it will work. That antenna has a 9-pin plug but the Uniden adapter has a 6-pin plug. For what it's worth, I'm using a BR-355S4 from the same manufacturer. Again, for what it's worth, Amazon has them also.

I mis-counted when I looked your picture. When I enlarged it, I could see there were 6 pins. The model numbers of the antennae are different but but that may only be the difference in plugs, I'd go for it!!
