Hey everyone. I own a 436 and thinking of buying an sds100. I have owned the 436 for years and also bought all three dmr, provoice, and nxdn directly from my.uniden.com, is that still an option for the sds100? I notice some websites selling the scanner and upgrades but the upgrades are priced high for what I recall them being.

Yes, all 3 still available for the SDS100. Don't pay a dealer for the upgrades when you purchase a scanner.

the pricing directly from Uniden:

DMR = $60
NXDN = $50
ProVoice = $49.99

Plus tax if applicable in your State.

And yes the dealer prices I am seeing are marked up too high.
Yes they are, considering it only takes a few minutes to upgrade.

Also, if you do purchase the scanner.... this comes up in the forums a lot:

When getting the upgrades, take note if you are being asked for the serial number (SN) or the electronic serial number (ESN).. they are different.

When you first register your scanner at the Uniden site you will be asked to enter the serial number of your scanner... you use the 12 digit serial number (SN) in the battery compartment of the scanner and enter all of the digits.

When you purchase the upgrades after registering your scanner, it will ask you for the electronic serial number (ESN)... the 14 digit number from the scanner's on-screen menu system (settings ---> see scanner info). The 3 digit number after the hyphen there is the checksum. When you enter the ESN to purchase the upgrades, that window will already have the first digits of the ESN posted there, just enter the remaining of the 14 digits and then enter the checksum number that's after the hyphen.
