Paul Optiz had that scanner out in the rain. Isn't supposed to be a rubber membrane that protects the speaker?

I don't believe it was submersible so it's survivability depends probably on how deep and how long in the water. Maybe also if it fell from some height into the puddle there could be physical damage affecting the speaker.

The SDS100 is water RESISTANT (not waterproof) so it won't be damaged by drops of water as long as the protective covers are on the ports. As long as it just fell into a small puddle and you immediately picked it up and shook the water off, it should be fine.

I left a 436HP out in the rain once. Ended up dismantling it and leaving it by a fan for a quick dry. It worked as if nothing happened afterwards.
