For some reason I cannot get my SDS100 to connect to Sentinel and when I plug into USB the computer recognizes it but the scanner does not give me the option to go to mass storage. I have completely reset the scanner and formatted the card and still nothing.

I'm sure I am missing something easy. Any advise would be appreciated.

Turn your scanner off then back on again. You should get a choice on the screen for Memory Mode or Serial Mode, chose Memory Mode.

And if turning the scanner off, then back on, with the programming cable connected to both the radio and computer, it still does not work, try replacing the programming cable with another that is known to work with your model radio. Your cable may be defective. The two obvious things that could go wrong are mechanical in nature... either the cable or the ports where the cable plugs into the radio and computer. Constant use of programming cables and the sockets they plug into can become worn or damaged. Check both ports for obvious damage. The ports may have a contact that’s been damaged due to constant use. And wiggle the cable to see if you have an intermittent connection. Additionally, you stated you have put the radio back into factory default... are you running the latest version of the software?

Are you putting the cable correctly into the USB port labeled CHARGE? The other port won’t work for attaching the scanner to the computer.

Note that I have had a broken USB port on a couple of Unidens now.
Look carefully at the USB. Are all 5 pins intact? Is the plastic all there?
