How do you set these separately? There's 4 things that can have a quick key:

Favorites List
System
Site
Department

But the display only shows three items:

F-:
S-:
D-:

Does the letter 'S' stand for System or Site and how do we tell it what quick key we want for the 4th item? For Example, I want to manually tell it to scan Department 0 only on Site 0. Other times I might wanna tell it to scan Department 1 on both sites 0 and 1.

Sites get set with departments, you must always have at least one site active or you will get the dreaded nothing to scan message.
If you don't assign a QK to a site it will be on with the system. S=System.

For my trunked systems, I assign the sites to Department Quick Keys 80-99, and departments are 0-79. (No, I don't scan that many sites, but with 100 numbers to work with, this works.)

So I think the letter 'S' stands for System and not Site. I'm guessing there is no dedicated quick key just for Sites, which is confusing because it lets you assign quick keys to sites. You just can't directly turn 'em on or off on the scanner.

What Uniden calls a "Department" I like to think of as a scan list or even a bank. For certain "Departments", I want to tell it to only monitor a certain site. But evidently, if you assign the same quick key # to a Department and a Site, then it will turn 'em both on or off together. There's no way to turn one off but not the other or vice-versa.

Another confusing this is how when you try to enter quick keys like 0.1.0 and press 'E', the scanner does nothing. It doesn't respond and take the entry.

Sites are set with the department/Site Q-keys, they don't have to be on the same key number as the department, thus you can turn sites on/off independently. If you want site 0 to stay on don't assign a Q-key and attach site 1 and dept 1 to QK 1.
If you press 0.1.0 and it does nothing you don't have those QK's assigned correctly.

You can also use the site hold feature to switch sites independently of the QK's and also to Avoid them.
