Hello,
I have made the GPS module upgrade.
This module is about 4 Euro in China
You can use the SMA antenna or a smaller IPEX antenna.
For Europe where I live the only benefit is the time synchronization.
Nope. You can add location coordinates to any site or department in your own favorite lists, and if location control is enabled for the list, the GPS will toggle things on and off anywhere it can get a signal. You can download geotagged EU radio systems from RR, you just can't put them in the default database. You have to put them in a favorite list instead.

And you can see the coordinates on the screen.

I have a similar setup but it's not working. I have the same module but version 7 I believe. The scanner shows the GPS icon with it plugged in but it's not switching locations from what I can see.

Here's some photos: VCC from module goes to Pin 1
GND goes to Pin 2
TX goes Pin 3
RX goes Pin 4

Am I missing something?

Yup, I have it wired that way. Scanner shows GPS, but no GPS data. I have an antenna next to the window for testing, I don't think it's a signal receive issue though.

Oh, I thought you meant pin 3 of the GPS went to scanner Tx. Are you getting the once/second flashing light on the GPS module?

Also, the default baud rate is 9600. I'm using that GPS with an Arduino, not a scanner, FYI.

GPS signal lock will flash the orange light once/second. Sometimes it takes about 2 minutes to acquire, worst case. Usually it's quick. Do you have it near a window, for starters?

Yeah, it's near a window. I think I'm going to have to plug it in via USB and a windows program to see if it's doing anything. I don't think it's locked on a satellite. I've left it plugged in for about an hour. All I have is the green power light.

Hmmm. All you need is power and ground and a clear view of the sky to get the orange light to flash. Try taking it outside just with power and see what happens.

I just fired mine up after being off for about 2 months. It took about a minute to lock on, and it was near, but not by, a window.

I think the problem is the voltage of the TTL part.
This is caused by the voltage from the SDS200 of 3.3v.
There is also a voltage converter (4B2X) on the GPS module.
This makes the module work from 5-12v.
As a result, the voltage of 3.3v does not pass through the voltage converter properly, so that it does not work.
I took this out and connected the entry point and exit point on the PCB.
Now it works fine
Other modules may have a slightly different voltage converter, remove it.
Pay attention! the module now works ONLY on 3.3V!
It will now break on 5v !!

I hooked it up via USB not tied to the scanner and it exhibited the same issue. I think the module is junk. I ordered a different one to try. I'll keep this updated.

The stock SDS200 Uniden puck (the above link) is sub-par.
It may be your problem.

I have a 100 and a 200 sitting beside each other here.
Both with stock Uniden pucks that both have the exact same view of the sky .
Many times, the 100 (w/BR-355S4) will have a lock, the 200 (what you have) will not.
I even bought a 2nd 200 puck, thinking the 1st one was defective - it wasn't.

Jon makes SDS200 pucks using the Reyax modules - considerably more sensitive than the Uniden POS.

First GPS unit must have been bad. Second one fired right up and gave me Lat/Long on the SDS. Thanks everyone!
