Forgive what might be a simpleton question: While scanning, the display screen turns itself off. Seems to go back on it picks up the next signal. Is this normal??

Another case of the manual needing burning. LOL. Seems Uniden has abandn the SDS line and any firmware updates.Thank you for your quick reply.
Another case of the manual needing updating
LOL that's hilarious. The delta between the manual and the scanner is precisely because of changes made after the manual was written, introduced...wait for it...by firmware updates.Another case of the manual needing burning. LOL. Seems Uniden has abandn the SDS line and any firmware updates.
Everyone knows that which is why someone said it needs to be updated. There hasn't been an update to the manual and there hasn't been a firmware update in months. Oh, and I forgot to mention that they never fixed the hum problem even when Static Discharge figured out the real cause and cure and posted it.Doubt if they have "abandoned"the premiere digital scanner on the planet. Curious, what so desperately needs to be fixed/added via updated firmware in your opinion ?

If that's not called abandoning I don't know what is.
