UPMAN....PLEASE HELP!
I can not find any information on the impedence of the speaker output jack or the headphone Jack.
I know that the UNIDEN brand speakers are 8 ohms, but want to be sure before I plug in an external speaker (non Uniden) that I match the impedence at the speaker jack on the rear panel.
The tech people at Uniden, by their own admission, know little about this scanner.

I'd appreciate not having any unsupported "opinions", only the actual facts from a Uniden representative.
UPMAN, can you help?
Thanks

Thanks for your reply.
Does that mean that the op amp accepts variable impedences? That would be unusual.

The SDS200 uses a Rohm Semiconductor BD5413EFV audio amplifier. Data sheet: https://www.rohm.com/datasheet/BD5413EFV/bd5413efv-e indicates an output impedance range of 6-to-16 Ohms. The performance charts are indicated for a nominal 8 Ohms per channel, this a stereo amplifier IC, with additional data at the two boundaries, i.e. 6 and 16 Ohms. Uniden's design has additional circuitry between the output of the amplifier and speaker/speaker jack, e.g. low pass filter. Without tracing the circuit, this is all I can for certain.
