Hey all...does anyone know how to get involved as a volunteer in search and rescue here in NJ? Or even if there is such a thing? Tried searching but came up empty handed.

Thanks in advance.

They use 155.3250 PL=173.8 as a primary frequency to talk to each other but have all kinds of VHF and UHF radios to talk to the local agencies. They also have a handful of talkgroups on the NJSP Trunked system.

Cape May co. does not have a usar team yet. They are starting one like the state team within the next 2 months. The forms and sign up sheets have been out. They will be getting a vehical like the state team with all the toys. It has been said it will be housed at Erma FD in Lower Twp, since we have a large engine bay to fit it. Cape May co. does use the CERT which is the civilian people that have some.. training in searches and other non emergency stuff. They normally use the freq. that the local FD is using. More to come with the CMC Usar team.
