This "should" apply to all Whistler models with this option, but I have a PSR-800 upgraded to a WS-1080 so I gave the thread that prefix.

When a mode is checked in the below option my radio will only decode that mode. In another thread it's stated the TRX-1 is opposite (when checked it won't decode that mode). So is the TRX-series completely opposite of previous model? That would seem odd to me.

Maybe someone else can test this and report their findings.

I have both the TRX and modified WS1080 and they perform the same.

This may require more research. If your conclusions are correct, then why can multiple modes be 'checked' at the same time? Notice that in eyes00only's screen shot in the 'Review' thread, he had two modes checked simultaneously in EZ Scan.

In previous experimentation, I found the manual to be correct, but in light of your work I set up two TRX's side-by-side searching 453.275-453.375, where there are fairly talkative DMR & NXDN stations here. Results were inconclusive--possibly because search mode has some glitches in the 450-470 range, some of which are related to engaging Flex-Step. My results were unreliable with Flex-Step both on and off. (Control radio had no boxes checked, and Flex-Step on. Experiment radio worked different combinations.)

Will try to find another narrow range where multiple modes can be tested. But based on what I found before, I'd say it's important to check this with more than just P25, and in more than one band.

With all due respect

Multiple modes can be checked so you will only receive P25 AND DMR for instance.

Don't know what to say about anyone that gets different results. Myself and @RaleighGuy both got the same results. Mine were UHF and his were 800 MHz.

With all due respect.

As @KevinC points out, it is for multiple (but not all) modes. I too have used it for NXDN and DMR in the UHF bands, in addition to the 800 MHz band.
