Search Ranges?

The manual and specifications clearly state the following in the manual for the search ranges:

Public Safety Group 0: 33.4000-46.5000 Mhz
Public Safety Group 1: 151.0000-170.0000 Mhz
Public Safety Group 2: 453.0000-467.0000 Mhz
Public Safety Group 3: 764.0000-806.0000 Mhz
Public Safety Group 4: 851.0000-869.0000 Mhz

So that tells me that is everything in between those two frequencies, right. Well that is not so. This is actually

what it scans in those groups:

Public Safety Group 0: 33.4200-33.9800 Mhz
Public Safety Group 0: 37.0200-37.4200 Mhz
Public Safety Group 0: 39.0200-39.9800 Mhz
Public Safety Group 0: 42.0200-42.9400 Mhz
Public Safety Group 0: 44.6200-46.5000 Mhz

Public Safety Group 1: 151.8200-151.9400 Mhz
Public Safety Group 1: 153.7700-154.9500 Mhz
Public Safety Group 1: 155.0100-156.2100 Mhz
Public Safety Group 1: 158.7300-159.2100 Mhz
Public Safety Group 1: 166.2500 single frequency
Public Safety Group 1: 170.1500 single frequency

Public Safety Group 2: 453.0375-453.9625 Mhz
Public Safety Group 2: 458.0375-458.9625 Mhz
Public Safety Group 2: 460.0125-460.6375 Mhz
Public Safety Group 2: 462.5500-462.7250 Mhz
Public Safety Group 2: 465.0125-465.6375 Mhz
Public Safety Group 2: 467.5625-467.7125 Mhz

Public Safety Group 3: 764.0000-766.996875 Mhz

As you can see there are some gaps in there that are not being searched. With that being known I have already

found several more frequencies hiding in those gaps. Maybe the manual should have been a little more specific.

But anyway I figured I would let everyone know about this.

I'm lost isn't whatbyour saying the range if each spectrum? When it skips isn't that the area of the spectrum you can not scan like the military or the frequencies that are not allowed to listen to?? I also realize that they encrypt stuff nowadays as well.

No. All im saying is the manual says it searches in between those frequencies and in fact it does not search all of them like it says. You can still search in the gaps where it misses and there are frequencies in there used by public safety because I have found them. Let me post my makeshift frequency map I made to show you better. I cannot promise it is 100% accurate now.

Ok now I got ya....that's like back in the day when I used to do a complete search on my old scanner!! but I have to ask you why is there a huge jump I think it was around 400.000mhz or maybe a bit higher I forgot and always wondered why it would jump...I just assumed there was just simply no frequencies there or they were prohibited to scan by federal law or something. Thank you for explaining it better I still need to learn more about radio or scanning period!!!

I dont know why they programmed it to miss those frequencies but you can still pick them up and there are public safety groups in those ranges along with others. I always thought it searched what it says it does until I got to looking.
