Due to the nature of their business they keep a low profile and are hard to spot. I was fortunate enough to spot one in a Walmart parking lot and snapped a picture.

I don't know about USSS in particular, but I know that some federal agencies use these:

ARC Wireless Solutions :: Products & Solutions

A friend of mine bought a sedan at an auction and found the antenna still in the package, wedged somewhere in the back seat. Interesting way to learn that. I plan to acquire it the next time I see him, as he is not a radio hobbyist and has no use for it.

EDIT...after looking through my emails from him, I believe the car was a State of NY auction vehicle, not federal...interesting nonetheless...

Does anyone know what model VHF antenna the secret service use on their vehicles?

Anyway, welcome to RR msdeputysr. :)

I can't say for sure the USSS has used this particular antenna. But many agencies wanting to keep a low profile have used the Antenex VHF antennas that look like this:

In the 80's and 90's they used the Antenna Specialists ASPR7495 for VHF, currently they are using the Larsen-Antennas NMOWBQB for VHF among others. It depends who has the lowest bid when they release there synopsis/solicitation for commercial items.

See the can of worms you opened? See the Pringle's can? That's about the only thing around here that's NOT funny, it's really an antenna. Back when they were steel hams made antennas out of beer cans, not to be confused with the Beverage antenna. <sick joke>

You've probably heard of stealth antennas used by those living in far of the HOA Nazis, well, when it comes to mobiles they're the stealthiest of all. Even the FCC does the occasional undercover surveillance, you'd never know the car is chocked with equipment and bristling with antennas built into the bodywork. Never mind low profile or disguised antennas, the real deal doesn't give a single clue, not a hint that it's anything but an ordinary vehicle, the ultimate "plain wrapper".

Oh no, it's happening again... must resist... NOOOOOooooo..............

I was at a Halloween party and this young lady kept asking me all kinds of questions. I had her pegged as a bug for the CIA just by the twin antennae!
