• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I've put up a justin.tv live channel of my HP-1, which also runs my RR feed (it's doing both in parallel). It will be up over the Labor Day weekend--not sure about after that...

This is the RR feed:

Marion County Police Dispatch Live Scanner Audio Feed

This is the justin.tv live channel:

IndyScan on Justin.tv

Hope this helps anyone considering a purchase decision. Mod's, please delete if this is "out-of-bounds". It's the same audio as my RR feed, in compliance with RR's feed broadcaster TOS.

Correction: This is a two-hour video loop, unless I restart a live broadcast. Justin.tv works a bit differently than ustream.net, which I've used in the past.

Pretty cool idea Todd! Now we just need to wait for a live video of the live audio of a live pursuit :D

Happy Monitoring
