Looking to switch my isp to verizon 5g home internet. i have read that some people were having issues being able to update data base and firmware thru sentinel. i also have read that this is the case with t mobile home internet but didn't see anything on this with verizon home internet. just curious if anyone here using verizon 5g home internet can chime in and confirm if it is or is not an issue. thanks.

Lemme see, I'll check:
Nope, Verizon doesn't seem to be blocking that (FTP) port.

Note:
Checked by firing up a Galaxy's hotspot and using their wireless network to check this.
So, unless they do port blocking selectively, based on SIM, I'd say you are probably good to go(?)

You are definitely good to go. I use my phone as a Hotspot and tested it a few months ago after the issue came up with T-mobile.

Verizon via my phone Hotspot or via jetpack works fine.

I have the Verizon 5G home internet, and have no problems updating DB with Sentinel. Haven't tried updating the firmware (not sure if it even needs it; have only had my SDS 100 for less than two weeks).

MY T-mobile Hotspot, doesn't block the (FTP) port I guess it's just with the home internet.
