Just got an SDS200, setup a favorites list and it's all working fine.

My question is this - in Sentinel, when I drill down into Farmington CT to find the feeds that I find in Broadcastify, they don't exist. e.g., there is no Farmington Police listing in Sentinel yet there is one in Broadcastify.

How do I get this into my favorites list.

FYI - Haven't had a scanner for years, last one was a RS PRO-2006, so lots of catching up here on the newer tech and all. Maybe I'm just missing something?

Also a provider may be listening to a frequency with their scanner that has not been shared to the database.
Welcome to RR
The way the Database here works is Scanner users find Frequencies Systems or Talkgroups and shares that info with the RR Database.
If a user sits on this info and never shares it then there in no way the Database Admins can add it to the Database.

However, in this case, Farmington is accurate. I can personally attest to this.
I was in Farmington three weeks ago , trying to see if West Farms Mall is still using radios.
But you're right about things being sat on and not submitted. That does happen far too often. Especially for some reason in Northern New England. However, for the three states, we get submissions quite regularly for updates, and I also personally catch/verify a lot of stuff too.

Sadly this happens all too often
That, or someone has the wrong information, but submits it anyways with full confidence it's correct, and unsuspecting admins put it into the DB. That's happened to everyone including me. We had a kid here who went to Quinnipiac who did just that. He submitted a bunch of information, that ended up being incorrect. Thankfully, it was eventually verified and I went through and deleted about 80% of his submissions, as they were bad.

Thank you all for the replies. Being a person who would have no problem contributing submissions for consideration...can someone give me an example of what is being submitted? e.g., I see one can submit conventional or trunk entries, but what do they actually submit? Examples go a long way for a newbie like me...again, I'm just catching up to all this newer stuff and the answers above totally cleared up why things are the way they are.

So a submission is when a user lets us admins know about a change, addition, or deletion.

Let's say Anytown PD went from VHF to UHF "460.1000 156.7 Repeater". User ResQ hears this, but doesn't see it into the database.
He will submit it to the database admin pool using a ticket. I will see this, "own it", and if it seems out of the ordinary, I will question it. Otherwise, if it seems legit, or if I have personally heard it, I will edit the database page to enter it.

Being a new user, you don't need to worry about submissions. That's really meant for the more experienced users anyways.

So to circle back, I am not 100% sure what your original question is. That you're not finding the feed on Broadcastify or you aren't able to program it into your scanner?

In Sentinel, drill down to Connecticut, Hartford, County Systems, Hartford, look for Hartford County - Farmington. That will give you the frequencies you are looking for.

Thanks, that's what I was missing. What was throwing me off was I saw a couple of towns "above" that node in the tree and didn't realize I had to drill down even further as shown. I'll remember to expand the tree before thinking an entry isn't there.

Easy mistake to make, it has happen to a lot of us at one time or another. When you are used to how RR lists stuff and then get on Sentinel that isn't exactly the same way it can get confusing.

Hope you enjoy your SDS200 as much as I have enjoyed mine. Happy New Year!

Same here. I have really been amazed at just how nice of a performer my SDS200 has been. I had to fix the hum using the method described in the Uniden forums, but it's been rock solid for me.

Happy New Year!

Thanks and Happy New Year to all as well!!!

Another quick question - the RSSI I'm seeing doesn't seem to be the greatest (over -71dBm always). I'm just using the stock telescoping antenna so I wasn't expecting a lot, but it is what it is right now and just curious what a more serious setup would likely result in. I'm sitting in Bradenton FL so there's lots of traffic to listen to (making this new unit a complete joy, especially New Years Eve, that thing was very active :D).

I'm going to start another thread to ask about antennas, so just curious here what others get. Thanks again for the feedback.

Oh, side topic, I actually found on eBay a light for my older RS Pro-2006 so thanks to this forum, I'll be able to resurrect that as a secondary conventional scanner...
