I noticed in Sentinel 2.00.05 that I can no longer set or view the Digital Threshold Mode and Level settings for NXDN systems.
I can still change the mode to Manual or Auto in the radio.
When I do set a NXDN site to a Manual threshold setting and then read it with Sentinel, Sentinel does detect a change and allows me to save that change to disk.
When I tell Sentinel to write back to the radio plus erase favorites lists, Sentinel does write my customized NXDN Digital Threshold settings back to the radio so Sentinel is seeing my threshold changes and writing them to the radio but there is no way to view them or set them in Sentinel any longer.
Custom thresholds can still be seen, read and changed in Sentinel for P25 and DMR systems. It seems this option was removed for NXDN systems.
This is with the x36HP models and the latest version of Sentinel, 2.00.05.
My x36HP radios are all running the latest 1.23.00 firmware version and like I said above, the Digital Threshold settings are still available to be changed for NXDN systems but only by using the radios menu for the system and its sites.
I'm not sure if this is by design or an oversight when 2.00.05 Sentinel was released. I can't say if this disappeared in earlier Sentinel versions after NXDN support was added. I did not notice it until today with version 2.00.05. I do know the first Sentinel version that supported NXDN did allow one to change the digital settings from Sentinel and of course from the radio menus.
While Auto mode does usually work now for NXDN sites, I still see a benefit when using Manual Digital Threshold settings.
This affects all NXDN systems or sites in my favorites lists.
Not that it matters but this is the system I first noticed this on when customizing some text tags this morning: https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=7359
After seeing this, I checked the other NXDN favorites and they are all missing the digital threshold settings now. I tried importing some from the master database and those are also missing the threshold options so it seems to be a Sentinel based issue.
Anyone else notice this?
At least I can still set them from the radio and they stick when writing back to the radio from Sentinel.
Also, the digital settings can still be read and changed using ProScan. I assume Butel's Arc536 still reads them and allows setting them as well but I did not try it.
