All was good until a few days ago (like a flat tire). I have on my desktop PC Home Patrol Sentinel and BCDx36HP Sentinel with the Sentinel Folder for both on my portable hard drive. All was good until I don't know what happened. Now when I start either program when it comes up the Favorite Lists are gone. Nothing shown. When I look at File Explorer the .hpd files for my previously saved Fave Lists are there. Interesting.

I have uninstalled both Sentinel programs. I have deleted the user.config files. I have re-installed both Sentinels. I set the Sentinel Folder to my saved stuff on the portable hard drive. Re-start Sentinel. Same thing,,, no Fave lists.

Now what?

If you go to the Tools -> Options menu. Does the Sentinel Folder box show the correct path?
Mine is "C:\Users\bob\OneDrive\Documents\Uniden\BCDx36HP"
Using the File Explorer, navigate to the folder. Do you have a FavoriteLists folder and does it conatin the f_list.cfg file and hpd files?.

You have two different versions of Sentinel, one for the Home Patrol and another for the x36 line of scanners. Are you using the very same folder for both by any chance? The Favorites Lists for one model do not work in the other models. Might seem like they should, but the x36 is a little more detailed.

With that out of the way, note where your File Explorer says those HPD files are. Then get into your Sentinel, go to Tools>options and be sure that path is in the window.

If the portable harddrive isn't mounted properly, or you have it disconnected when you start Sentinel, it probably will restore the path to the files to the default values. I do not recommend storing any program telated files directly to a removable drive. Sooner or later it's bound to happen something that makes life unnecessary diffcult. Use a permanent mounted harddrive for everything except storing pictures, movies, and stand alone files that are not location dependent on an external drive. Use a backup program that automaticly senses when a file have been changed and makes a backup to an external drive.

2 versions. Different folders. Correct path. I am aware that FaveLists are different for each version of Sentinel.

Another tidbit of info,,,,,,,,,,,,, all of my previously created .hpd files are in the FavoriteLists folders. When I open Sentinel (either Home Patrol or BCDx36HP version) the FaveLists do not show up. It seems that any previously created FaveList (.hpd file) cannot be used. I am stumped on how to get Sentinel to read these previously created FaveList files.

Does the f_list.cfg file in the FavoriteLists folders show the 1st line "TargetModel BCDx36HP"

On that note, how can I "re-install" the firmware on my SDS100 via Sentinel? It is acting flaky, I think I had it set to "Target - SDS200" when I DL it

Are you talking about reverting to a previous software version? Or reinstalling the current one (the last one applied via Sentinel)?

Re-installing current.

My SDS100 will hold a P25 simulcast system,. and blink the signal "off" almost exactly every second, where my SDS200 will stay on a system, and not "Blink off", will hold the signal strength steady.

No, I do not have weather, priority, or Close Call on.

Are the favorites lists in your scanner? Read the scanner and see if they show up in Sentinel.
I can read from the scanner into Sentinel. Maybe I'm making too much out of nothing. But I would like to know why if I have a whole bunch of saved .hpd files I cannot copy and paste back into the Sentinel folder and they would be seen.

Sentinel uses hpe files to import favorites lists. You cannot import a hpd file. Sentinel uses hpd files to write to and read from scanners. If you had ARC536 software, you could write all of the hpd favorites lists files into your SDS100 and then read the favorites lists out of the scanner into BCDx36HP Sentinel. You could then export the favorites lists as hpe files and then import them into HomePatrol Sentinel.
