I have just received my sds100 and I connected it to my Windows 10 PC. Sentinel doesn't find the scanner. It will find my BCD436HP on same usb.
I also tried it on my work Windows 7 PC and still nothing. I have tried different usb's on both machines,
In windows explorer in won't appear.

Do I have a DOA or am I missing something.

Is the scanner prompting you to enter mass storage mode when you plug in the supplied cable?

Also make sure you use the *mini* USB port, not the *micro* one. The micro one is for power only (so-far - and some mystery new features in the future).

You want the Mini USB port, micro is the one that doesn't charge. I did the same thing. Just unplug the USB from your charger adapter and into your PC and choose mass storage.

Also make sure you're using the latest version of Sentinel - should be 2.00 revision 05.

Want to thank all who replied with suggestions. My issues got resolved and were due to user error.

It appears that if the battery is completely down, connecting it to computer nothing will happen until it is charger sufficiently to run the radio. Once it charged enough it started to work. Also radio to be connected and on "Mass Update" to create and save favorites. I don't remember Sentinel working that way before, I could create all the favorites and later connect and load into the scanner.

Again, Thanks everone.

I recently updated Sentinel to 2.0.0.5. My plan was to then read from my 436 because I had made some FL changes, and then populate my SDS100. However, when I plugged in my SDS100, there were no FL’s in Sentinel. I kept getting an error message saying that there was a corruption issue. I redownloaded Sentinel, uninstalled the previous version, installed the new version, reread the 436 and then tried to populate the SDS100. Same thing, no FL’s that are readable. I’ve read and wrote to my 436 countless times before with no problem. In fact, if I now read the 436, make a change and try to write back to the 436, I have the same issue. Any one else having this problem?!

Additional: at one point I was able to read from, edit, and re-write to my 436. However, when I powered it back up I found that my Allegan County favorites list now contained all of my Ottawa County channels. My Ottawa County favorites list was still in tact. Any ideas?
