Hello All!

I've tried searching all over the Internet for this

I want to select avoid for all the sites. It will not allow me to select all or drag the column.

You can't possibly have to go through some 120 sites to hit AVOID?

Thanks for everyone's input.

Any great videos on YouTube etc for programming? I've found a few that help!

Take Care

Pretty simple process similar to how spreadsheets work. Make one "Avoid" and then right-click on it and hit "Copy". Select the next one in the Avoid column, hold your shift key down and select the last one in that column--- they should all highlight, and then simply right click and hit "Paste".

That's exactly how I do it----- let me know how that works for you.

right click and select "select all" or.........

Click the first row to highlight it (everything in the row will be highlighted)

Shift - click the bottom row to select all rows

then right click in the highlighted area and choose "set avoid"

You can also use the old control-c to copy the setting you want from one row, then highlight that entire remaining g column, or selected rows using normal windows keys and then use control-v to paste the values in all the selected fields. This is a way to do it without using a mouse at all except to pick the first setting.

Now the next question... why program it st all if you are going to avoid all sites.

You could create a list that just has the sites of interest in it, the few you want.

Then have another list that has them all for when you are out of normal area.

Scan the list with just the local ones normally.

That is the way I do it, but your method will also work if it will transfer all those avoided sites to the radio.

I too like the method of having two lists. Another option is to assign Quick Key numbers to sites and turn them on or off as you need them. Once of the nice things about Sentinel and the 436/536 units are their flexibility in being able to program and utilize them in a way which is most comfortable to you.

There are many different paths to use to arrive at the same destination. The one you are most comfortable with is the best one to use.

For me, I use quick keys. Everything is in one list. By arranging quick keys so that favorite stuff is on one and the rest is on another (or a couple of others).

I've found the "two list" process to be inefficient as it slows down the scanning process, particularly with multiple site trunked systems. It's also tough to maintain especially if you have Radio IDs programmed.

Why not just set a location and use the range setting?

One very good reason - fwiw - is it still may load sites that on either can not receive, sites that just duplicate the same traffic, plus more sites than necessary slow down scanning.

I can reliably recive 3 sites on one of my statewide systems (with a 30' discone). Default will load 8 or more.
