service search 800

I need some help with my psr 800, when in a service search mode and searching the public safty 700 mhz freqs. do i have to do anything for what mode like apco 25 or does it do it automatically, ive read all i can havent seen anything ,maybe im just missing it. tnxs

If the service search stops on a P25 transmission it should decode automatically.

Thanks DaveIn,the reason i asked such a lame question was i don't have any nearby P25 tx. Untill i put up a discone at 40 feet, now i see, or hear. thanks again.
