I have a Uniden SDS200 to replace my BCT15X and BC-RH96 which was in my vehicle. I need the capabilities of the SDS200 or similar because we have a lot of P25 type 1 and type 2 trunking systems in use. I had heard that the BH-RH96 remote control head might work with other Uniden radios, I need a full up P25 trunked, type 1 and 2 receiver.

I have the BCT15X in the center console of my SUV with the remote head mounted with my two-way radio head and my Android based tablet.

I really don’t have room on or around my dash board of console to mount the SDS200 so am looking for a way to remote it. It appears as if the Proscan LAN approach might be a good answer but it also appears that I would need to have a Windows 10 PC in the vehicle as well to run the Proscan software? Is this a correct assumption? I have a wireless router (Sierra Wireless MG90) installed for FirstNet and Verizon and it has LAN access but not a windows interface. I also have a L3Harris XL-200M multi-band plus FirstNet mobile mounted in the vehicle with the remote control head on my console but at a loss of how to remote the SDS200

I can physically mount the SDS200 in the center console but then I don't have access to the controls unless I open the console each time. I was hoping to find a way to:
1) Remote the SDS200 or
2) Find a suitable Uniden scanner for P25 trunking which would also work with the Uniden BC-RH96 remote control head.

Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance.

The easiest answer first. The only scanners that are compatible with the BC-RH96 are the pre-x36 line of scanners. Anything later, 4/536 and SDS1/200 are not. The thinking was to use the Siren app (which never got perfected) or something like ProScan.

I know the Siren App, as limited as it may be, could work if it can "see" your wireless router.

I'm not proficient with ProScan, so I'll leave this to those who are to chime in. (If it can work, I'd sure like to see a YouTube video on how to set this up. While I'm not necessarily a slouch, routers/networking isn't my strong suit. So additional information is welcome by me).

There was some discussion of the Remote Head RH 86 being modified to work with the BCD 996P2. I recall seeing where somebody got it to work. Been a while. The BCD996P2 would cover your requirements for Phase 1 Phase 2 and is a very good digital scanner IF you have no simulcast issues.

Thanks all of the trunked systems here are simulcast so that is, in fact, a consideration.
