• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Oh, poo... OKC is right on the edge again... Which means we probably won't see much... Darn it! :D

On the other hand, if the system slows down from predictions we could be right in the middle of it Monday!

Who, me? A weather junkie? Nah... :p

That was certainly a bumpy night. I got some hail up to half-dollar and golf ball size but it was not continuous, just occasionally a few of that size. No apparent damage to the vehicles parked outside and the roof seems OK this morning.

Boy we sure dodged a bullet here in Stillwater. The same cell that dropped a tornado in Northwest OKC and Edmond went right through here with some massive dime to nickel size hail that covered the ground. It looked like snow. We got lucky as the cell passed through because it was not tornadadic at that point. Wow what a night!
