SHERIDAN - Residents in three apartment buildings had to evacuate their homes overnight because of a gas line break.

According to Sergeant Paul Wszolek with the Sheridan Police Department, around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a car going eastbound on Kenyon Boulevard ran a stop sign and hit some parked cars.

One of the cars hit a gas line, causing some residents to lose heat and power.

Three buildings were evacuated shortly after the crash, but residents of two of the apartment buildings were able to return to their homes around 4 a.m.

The driver of the car was taken into custody and transported to Swedish Medical Center. The extents of the driver's injuries were not immediately available.
