Shmira and Shomrim?

These two "patrol groups" have been getting a lot of coverage recently. I've noticed that they seem to have a radio system set up. However, I can't seem to find anything in the FCC license database. Does anyone know what frequencies they use?

UPDATE: Found one license for Flatbush Shomrim (http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/license.jsp?licKey=2517496)
UPDATE 2: According to (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3604965912082724702&ei=5HjeSK7DMI-w2ALIyOymCw&q=shomrim) Shomrim wants to start encrypting radio traffic. Does anyone else find it odd that a community patrol is getting encryption before the real police are?

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to get reception from Manhattan. Their first channel is apparently used as dispatch for a hispanic car company here.

They don't have the new system as of yet (afaik). I will probably go out to Brooklyn this or next weekend and have a listen. I can see why they would be useful (Jewish bias in crappy neighborhoods with bad police response time) but they need to learn to keep themselves in check before they get into big trouble. At least they are somewhat under the wing of the NYPD now.

Thanks maalox. Where are you located? I know that 461.075 comes in as a taxi corp up here on the UWS. Are you in downtown? I would just like to get a perspective on how close I'd need to be.

Just tuned the scanner to 466.075 hoping to get something. Apparently their repeater is licensed to work within a 32 km radius so I hope I can get a little something.

If worst comes to worst, I'll just check it out after my portable scanner gets back from Uniden and I have a good reason to go out to Brooklyn.

UPDATE: After at least 30 mins of nothing, I'm assuming I need to go to Brooklyn.

i am in the bayridge section of brooklyn near the vz bridge. i guess i have a scannerantenna on my roof thats why i am able to receive them. since there around flatbush ave i would say a trip to kingsplaza shopping center should be close enough.also receiving those taxi cabs on that freq as well.

452.9125 (172) Boro Park area

463.7375 Kings County Safety Patrol (WQIL787) [may not be Shomrim related]

464.200 old Williamsburg area frequency.

Try to time your visit for the period between sundown Friday and sundown Saturday (the Sabboth). From past experience activity seems to peak during that time.

I actually heard that most of it comes over in regular English. (Especially seeing how they are under the wing of the NYPD nowadays).
