Fatal shooting at Midland high school
MIDLAND (AP) -- A female was shot outside H.H. Dow High School's cafeteria on Wednesday, and it wasn't clear if the victim was a student, a school district official said.
The shooter, a male, was not believed to be a student, said Linda Cline, finance director for the Midland Public Schools. Broadcast reports said the shooter suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Cline did not have word on the victim's injuries.
"It appears to be an isolated incident that has ended," she said.
The shooting prompted the lockdown of the school, Cline said.
Cline said students would remain in school for the rest of the day, though parents could pick up their children.
