Have a Sanyo RP 8880 SW radio (1978) Only the FM band works, no LW, MB, AM, or any of the 5 short wave bands. Was thinking about having it repaird if it,s not an outragious price. My problem is I can,t find a repair shop in my area. (Anchorage Alaska). Ive heard it,s supposed 2 B a pretty good radio 4 it,s time. If anyone out there that use,s SW, Do U think it would B worth while 2 have this radio repaired? Just wish I could find a shop in my area. Appreciate any info I can get. rg@gci.net

Considering the age, and the distance it would likely need to travel to anywhere from Anchorage to get it repaired, it's probably not worth it. I very briefly tried to search out that model number on the web and came up rather empty. Not a good sign. Time, I think, to consider a replacement. Best Regards..Mike

There was a YouTube video with someone fooling around with the radio and mentioning repairs from British Columbia - I still think it likely isn't worth saving, but there you go...73 Mike
