HP-1: Show transmitting radio ID?

if this is in the wrong section, a moderator can move it please.

I was wondering, is there any way to get the Radio ID of the transmittign radio to display instead of Unit ID.

for instance. When listening to London Public Safety's Fire talk group, insttead of seeing:

UID: 4071,

it would say

UID: Engine 7A

and instead of

UID: 4211

it would say

UID: Truck 7A


I know this would more than likely require firmware or database modification, but what i would like to know is could it be done?

It absolutely can be done - through the radio itself or via the programming software. No firmware update required.

You will need to

#1 - create a favorite list

#2 - You will need to enter the info yourself - or if you have it somewhere, cut and pate.

FWIW - I keep a spreadsheet and C&P several favorite lists and other radio files.

in sentinel, where do i enter this info?

There is actually a radio id tab in sentinel to enter this data for each system. You do not need the extreme update unless you want to enter it directly to the radio.

You also need to turn on the display of unit id in the menu.
